lol.

i'm a mod on silkroad's biggest fan forum, Silkroad Online Forums • Index page

if you need any info, feel free to ask.

but to summarize it, the game was great back in '05 and '06. but since
the start they've had a bot problem. not really problem, but the company
owning it, joymax, isn't banning any bots really, because these bots pay
money for the loot pets, xp boosts, etc. not just talking about player bots
here, also goldbots and bots for character sales.

it's called free to play, but even with paying for easier login, you will need
about 5-15 tries to get into any server. most of em are permanently filled
with bots.

there's a couple of servers that have a large legit community, biggest one
is the venus server. so if you plan on starting silkroad, login there.

there's also csro (chinese), jsro (japan), ksro (korea), tsro (thai). the
chinese is quite empty, but bots there as well and high lvls pking all the
low levels doing their jobs trading goods on the silkroad. jsro is empty,
ksro you need kssn and they ip ban (iirc), tsro not many people i know
play this.

on my forum we have language packs and pk2 editing to get english
texts for csro and ksro.

if you need any more info, post here, visit the forum i mod or send
me a pm.

I tred to play, but it is really grindy, at least I got tired at level 19 and I wanted to get the Assassin job, but I couldn't bare with the grind anymore. It looks nice (at least for the year it was released) and the skills are also well animated, but then again the grind kill it for me.

I thought silk road was one of the few free mmo's with real essence. Don't get me wrong the grind kills it (But thats the same for all Korean MMO's) and I quit becuase the botting and lag got so bad I coun't deal with the replacement keyboard costs.

Now a few years later with there mass of servers Im playing again. It's just to tide me over till i find the next one but the 3 way system for trade and combat excites me. Something more than just 'castle siege in 10 minutes'. Few f2p games offer anything except, get higher lvl choose the right pvp class build and own in castle siege. I have noticed more on the horizon though so, heres hoping.
