Quote:
The Chinese World of Warcraft drama continues on as The9 has officially sued Blizzard Entertainment for property losses and forcibly injuring The9’s reputation. Representatives from The9 has confirmed this to the public media and the Shanghai court has both cases listed.

The first case for property loss will be held in Shanghai Pudon People’s Court on June 18th and the second case for commercial defamation will be held in Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate People’s Court on July 18th.

The9’s publishing license will expire on June 7th and the right to publish WoW in China will be transferred to NetEase. The9 has made it clear they will not go down without a fight before -- in the past few weeks rumors about The9’s refusal to let character data transfer to the NetEase system has sent Chinese fans into a panic.

Has Blizzard and NetEase been pulling some strings? Or is The9 just being a sore loser? Our wishes are to the Chinese WoW gamers as they will be the ones to suffer in the end.

You honestly can't say that an international case such as this would be treated unfairly in the courts of China. However bad an image of China the media portays, It is honestly nowhere near as bad as people would like to think. In many respects the judicial practices in China are fairer than they are elsewhere.
