Halo 3 approaches 10 million sold copies - Game|Gravity

Somewhere, someone has got to make a lot of money on this game, and are now probably laughing all the way to the bank.
The previously best selling Halo game, Halo 2, has now been overtaken by Halo 3.

Halo 2 has to date sold 8.46 million copies (for the Xbox anyway, not counting PC), and Halo 3 has now passed that, currently selling 9.40 million copies worldwide on the Xbox 360. Now that's something!

If you scroll a bit down this chart, you will see that Halo 3 is the all time best selling Xbox 360 exclusive title, and Halo 2 is the all time best selling XBOX title.

These are pretty impressive figures.

Sidenote: Although I play and love Killzone 2 - a "Halo killer" it is not. At least not so far. The sweet looking shooter has so far sold 1.32 million copies.

halo 1 was and forever will be the best game in the halo series but I am excited for odst, hopefully the single player campaign will be better than the last

The fact that halo can reach such numbers is ridiculuos when other better made games are pushed to the way side
