"Darkfall is a next generation Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) currently in development.
By “Next Generation” we mean that while Darkfall was inspired by the pioneers of online role-playing games, such as Ultima Online, Everquest and Asheron’s Call, it has advanced features and technology never before seen in online games. We are confident that Darkfall will help to advance the genre further.

Darkfall has most of the features one would associate with fantasy based MMORPGs, but also contains elements found in real-time strategy and action games. In Darkfall it’s the players and their actions that shape the world. We provide you with the platform and the tools to engage in grand activities such as kingdom building, politics, strategy, diplomacy, combat, warfare, conquest, and racial wars. We also offer you the freedom and the option to not get involved in any of that if you don’t want to, and to follow a path of your own. In Darkfall there are no chains of pre-planned events. Our storyline is completely player driven. As the game is launched, clues begin to indicate the hiding places of artifacts called word-stones. Darkfall's dynamic storyline concerns the struggle between players to control these artifacts and the wealth and power which they unlock.

And the game is 100% skill based meaning that there are no levels just skills.
There are over 300 spells that can be collected but the skill cap is at max 100.

The world in Darkfall (Agon) is huge, possibly the largest single online game world ever created. Besides being huge, the world features hundreds of islands you could discover and make your secret base on. As you travel across Agon you will encounter unique terrain features never seen before in online games, such as mountains ranges that rise for thousands of feet, waiting for you to climb and explore them. Darkfall is seamless and will not have “zones” and zone loading, as seen in other MMORPGs. There will be a short loading pause when entering dungeons and structures."

Races


Alfar of Nagast

In combat, alfar are hate-fuelled killing machines, whose unshakable bravery and great skill makes them feared opponents. Their character has a strong streak of individualism, however, and unless orders are perceived as the will of Melek, alfar warriors are reluctant to follow any grand plan or strategy. As soon as battle is joined, each alfar tends to fall back on his own murderous instincts, or to fight alongside a small, tightly-knit group of raiding comrades.

Dwarves of Dvergheim

Grim-faced, iron-strong and unshakable in courage and convictions, dwarves are trueborn children of the mountains. They are an introspective and taciturn race who scorn all gods in preference of a multi-millennial path to perfection that was laid out by the legendary founder of their nation.

Humans of Mercia


The Mercians are natives of Riada, a sunken realm which lay in the great eastern sea, its spires gleaming each day with the rays of the morning sun. When this island home foundered, Mercian survivors landed on the shores of their present-day realm, which they conquered after a long war with an aboriginal people called the Imric. The Mercians see themselves as a divine race descended from the children of the sun god Auros, and they are at best unmindful, at worst disdainful of the needs and opinions of other, presumably lesser races.

Mahirim of the Tribelands

The mahirim are a fierce race of predators, whose society has only recently moved towards civilization. And while they may have cities and laws now, they retain the wolf-eyed wildness, the finely honed instincts, and the uncaring cruelty of their pack-hunting ancestors.

Mirdain of Mirendil

In combat, mirdain warriors move with innate grace and fluidity, seeking the perfect opening before striking with surgical precision. The mirdain are renowned tacticians, who may overcome near-insurmountable odds through brilliantly deployed maneuvers, ruses and stratagems.

Orks of Morak

To the orkish warrior's mind, excessive planning is a coward's resort, while fancy tactical chicanery is a sure sign of effeminacy. Instead, orks rely on a combination of unrelenting aggressiveness, death-defying bravery, and the natural-born bully's instinctive eye for weakness.

looks like an mmo version of Oblivion, which i believe is over-rated lol.

Personally I can't wait till this game is released, or goes into Open Beta. Hopefully, the crafting system will be as awesome as it describes.

Brrrr, P2P. I'm having trouble committing myself to another P2P after being screwed a couple of times. Thats why I love F2P games, if the game is good enough you can spend some money into the cash shop. And if you don't like the game, you can just quit .

Thats so true, but that makes you not commit to the game, and never reach high levels where all the fun is.

Hey maybe thats why ppl say p2p is better since they commit to it and reach high lvls and have fun

The end game isn't where all the fun should be in an mmorpg. And Ive reached decently high level in a lot of games (P2P/F2P)

Looks like my kind of game I hope they have archers or bow and arrows for a choice of weapon.

Then you will have much fun with Darkfall!
Cuz in Darkfall you have to aim all your strikes and shots (it's both FPS and TPS)!
