Ok so im sure some of you have heard about Aion before, if not i'll explain. Its an MMO that features a very very detailed world with the PvE focused on Quest and the PvP focused on 24hour Fortress battles between the two races the game offers, Elyos and Asmodian respectively, and a separate AI race called the Balaur who way chose to picks sides during a conflict or just try to kill everyone. The World of Aion known as Atreia was split in 2 long ago separating the Elyos and the Asmodians. So it looks something like this...
![]() The Elyos inhabit the lower half of the world and because of this they were constantly bathed in light and got all happy and ghey. The Asomodians inhabit the upper half of the world where its alot darker so they went all Goth and grew claws and stuff. As you can see unlike most MMOs which feature a word on a completely horizontal plane Aion has a large vertical plane as well. The skies on both sides are filled with floating dungeons and castles that can only be accessed by flying to them, more on that later... http://www.aionsource.com/photoplog/file.php?n=166&w=l http://www.aionsource.com/photoplog/file.php?n=56&w=l http://www.aionsource.com/photoplog/file.php?n=47&w=l While PvE is important the main aspect of the game is on PvP. The game features a system of PvP lvling where you get points from killing your opponents, those point can be used to buy better gear and change your wings. While raids are possible via randomly spawning rifts between the the two sides the main focus of PvP will take place on the Abyss. http://www.aionsource.com/mediawiki/...ss_Concept.jpg This is one section of the Abyss. This was the only section open during the last Closed Beta (CBT3) and developers said there are 9 planned. If we take a closer look at each island... http://aion.gamemeca.com/special/sec...a17-080613.jpg http://aion.gamemeca.com/special/sec...a18-080613.jpg http://aion.gamemeca.com/special/sec...a19-080613.jpg We see that the two larger Islands, and they are quite large in game. Hold 5 fortresses and the smaller island in the middle holds 1. All fortresses are initially held by the Balur but as players enter the abysss they my challenge the Balaurs and if they defeat their fortress guardians they claim the place Elyos Fortress Guardian: http://upload.plaync.co.kr/file/down...b40c82de3-7b1b http://file.thisisgame.com/board/fil...3_f119e505.jpg Asmodian Fortess Guardian: http://file.thisisgame.com/board/fil...3_4d12c49e.jpg http://file.thisisgame.com/board/fil...5_9fa638ee.jpg Balaur Fortress Guardian: http://eu.aiononline.com/images/gall...-1000x1296.jpg So those are the guardians, each fortress has one, defeat them, claim fortress. The person or faction who deals the most damage gets the fortress but all those who participate get something like Abyss Points. The Abyss is also home to some of the more fruitful PvE areas and Aion and in order to access them you will have to be in control of the corresponding fortress. So basically owning a fortress is a very big deal and can get you alot of different bonuses. All if you look at the maps you will see other notions on it besides the fortresses, those are artifacts and controlling them is important as well because different artifacts have differ effects which can really change the battle from mass destruction to mass sleep. The Abyss is also only area where flying is possible whenever, where ever. Flying plays an important role in Aion, You don't get your wings until Lvl 9 when you truely pick your class and get your wings. Not all areas in Aion are players able to fly some being restricted completely others being vastly open except for the Abyss where flying is possible all over. Flying has a limit that regenerates when not in use so you can't fly constantly or as long as you want. Another thing about flying is access to aerial combat, attacking is both possible and encouraged during flight and it opens up a whole new dynamic to PvP and PvE. So thats all for now, if ppl show more interest i'll post more info with regard to the classes which are Gladiator(damage dealing tank) Templar(Defense tank)Assassin(primary daggers secondary bow) Rangers(Primary bow secondary daggers) Sorcerers(Heavy magic damage) Summoners(Calls summoned elementals)Cleric(main healer) Chanter(main buffer) some pics, some of these are renders but as you can see the graphic quality on this game is very impressive, it runs on the Crytek engine. http://tulavumondl.mondespersistants.../fonds/5_1.jpg http://tulavumondl.mondespersistants.../fonds/3_1.jpg http://tulavumondl.mondespersistants.../fonds/7_1.jpg http://tulavumondl.mondespersistants...fonds/18_1.jpg http://file.thisisgame.com/board/fil...0_1f8fa3d5.jpg http://tulavumondl.mondespersistants...fonds/11_1.jpg http://tulavumondl.mondespersistants...fonds/16_1.jpg http://image.playforum.net:8080/gall...4/Aion0145.jpg http://medias.jeuxonline.info/www/ca...93/8/12368.jpg http://file.thisisgame.com/board/fil...9_e522e7a3.jpg movies defo worth watching: Movies | Aion: The Tower of Eternity

I was watching some youtube videos of the latest beta, and the character creatio is awesome!!!!
I'm gonna spend hours there, specially trying to create characters that looks like characters from other games :P And the graphics are impressive too. The only thing that worries me, is that from some videos I could see it was point and click. I'm gonna play it anyway :P |

I'm have been testing this game and was quite good, got my guarantee entry to closed beta too.
Nope the game is not only Point & Click. Both WSAD and Point & Click is implented. There will be a lot of quests so you don't need to worry about the game will be grind fest so there is always something you can do. I will definely try this game out, hope the NCSoft have this separated between Europe & US like they have on Guild Wars.

i just heard on my forum that the korean OB is not ip filtered.
there's a guide on the net on how to register and download the korean version. though because it's not ip filtered, the servers seem to be full 24/7. accounts for this OB last for 2 months.

RoM wasn't as laggy for me as 4story was. for the rest.. well a
wow-looking game (just the looks i'm talking about), is Dungeon Runners. only prob with that game is you can't wear all items if you don't pay the fee. for the rest, i don't really know any real wow-looking free mmo's. most i played are graphically more like archlord/silkroad/etc.
