THen Im hoping you'd agree, the people who are stating vista was a mistake are simply not running it on suitable hardware, or giving it an unfair rating/review based on ill thought out and short sighted usage of the OS ? Also a bias based on other peoples reviews.

Well, when Win7 comes out if you buy the Ultimate version then you could use VirtualPC running VirtualXP; so there may be no need to dual boot. I didn't want to get WinXP Pro x64 even though it matured there were still driver issues and Vista x64 rarely has that problem although it's still a problem yet a small one.

Here is a good one, my friend has WinV x32 yet decided to buy 8GB of RAM and he is good at computers as well, and as you know 3GB can only be used by x32 based systems...and the other 5GB are not doing nothing; I've told him to get x64 but he'll have none of that.

32bit does use the 4GB it just wastes 1 Gb of it managing the other 3Gb :P .

He's not the only one. I used to use 1 Gb in Windows 98 Windows 98 only utilized 512mb) and refused to move to Windows XP (I did use windows 2000 for a while but compatibility issues were to much for me at that stage.) I know a few people using 6 Gb in 32 bit. I don't understand but they do it anyway.

You could laways just use VM Ware if you require XP for anything (Thats all I use atm) Though If there is a game that I simply can't force to run on Vista I put it into my archive.

I use Windows XP. Then again 90% of the PC's here in the Philippines use this OS. I never see Linux or any other program.

I've never tried Vista but those who have often say that it's annoying as hell to use. So annoying that you can be tempted to thro your laptop out the window.
