Question How Long Have You Been Gaming?

How long have you been gaming? I started gaming on the Commodore VIC-20 and then on the Commodore 64, as well as the various consoles & PCs over the years; so in total I've been gaming for almost 30 years!

lol, love your system specs. Compensating much ?

Either way I think my first real gaming addiction began with the Amstraad 128. Though I did have a pong machine before that and I've played a few early arcade games. Memories of Pac, Galaga and Space Invaders always make me smile.

I'm 15 now and I've been gaming for about 3-4 years. I'm gonna buy a new pc soon, and then I'll be a hardcore-gamer yeaa.

You dont have to have a good PC to be a hard core gamer. Tool's don't make a tradesman.

Really, then why do you ? :P

Either way a quick question does the core i7 functions OK with the AMD graphics ? I've been looking at the i7's lately and now they are more prolific information is less favorable.

Actually, as far as I am concerned, I am under compensating.

i7 functions wonderfully, and nothing wrong with the graphics card in relation to the i7; I may go back and use nVIDIA's GT300 when it comes out next year as it is going to be using a new tech for the GPU which should push graphics on the PC to another level -- I have a feeling that ATi will end up using the same tech as well.

Your not talking about CODA ?

Look into nvidia's i386 research atm. If nvidia dosn't pull it's head in there won't be a GT300 next year.

----> I'll revise my statement.

AMD is already working on bringing the GPU and CPU back together though for differant base application than this.

I don't really know if the increased cost of the new Nvidia cGPU is gonna justify the performance. I prefer my CPU to do what a CPU does and my GPU to do what a GPU does. However until the tech hits the shelves I'll reserver judgment.

To be honest It would be nice to buy Nvidia again. I miss my green.

I thought you were canadian, the whole compensating thing was a joke, If I'd known you were so hard up about it I wouldn't have brought it up. (Ok re reading that sounded terrible, but seriously no pun intended)

No, I am not talking about CUDA, currently GPUs from anyone who makes graphics cards -- and even CPUs -- are using SIMD (Single Instruction, Multiple Data) but the GT300 if nVIDIA sticks to its guns will user a newer tech called MIMD (Multiple Instruction, Multiple Data).
